Summer Reading Recommendations for Kids of different ages
Summer is a great time for kids to explore new books and discover new genres. Here are some recommendations for kids of different age groups:
For younger children (ages 3-5), picture books are a great way to spark imagination and build vocabulary. Consider titles like
- "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle
- "Corduroy" by Don Freeman.
For elementary school students (ages 6-10), chapter books with engaging characters and plots can help develop reading skills and foster a love of reading. Some popular titles in this age group:
- "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White
- "Magic Tree House" series by Mary Pope Osborne
For Middle school students (ages 11-13) may enjoy more complex stories with themes of friendship, adventure, and coming-of-age. Books like:
- "The Giver" by Lois Lowry
- "Holes" by Louis Sachar
For High school students (ages 14-18) may be interested in more mature themes and diverse perspectives. Some popular titles in this age group include:
- "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee
- "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas
