Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Go through summer clothes, packing away those that will work for next year and donating those that are too small.
- As you change over closets, try on winter clothes for this season. Donate any that are too small.
- Try on jackets, hats, and mittens. Find a central location in your entry way or near a back door to keep everything out and ready so you aren’t scrambling before (or after!) that first snowfall.
- Create a bin or basket for each family member to store their mittens, hats, and scarves.
- Store bicycles, balls, and other outdoor toys until next spring.
- Make sure tire pressure is sufficient. Make sure you have a window scraper for each car.
- Stock up on cold and flu medicines … and maybe even some hot chocolate and herbal tea to help you survive the season!
- Change out your toothbrushes more often.
- Wipe surfaces and door knobs more frequently.
- Order more mask and keep them everywhere.
